group restorative & yoga nidra
Rest Deeply. Restore Gently.
In a world that often asks us to do more, move faster, and remain constantly connected, restorative practices offer something different — an opportunity to pause.
This small group class combines the gentle support of Restorative Yoga with the deeply nourishing practice of Yoga Nidra, creating space for the body to soften, the nervous system to settle, and the mind to rest.
Designed to be accessible to all bodies and experience levels, these sessions invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply be.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice that uses blankets, bolsters, cushions and other supports to fully support the body in a small number of comfortable postures.
Unlike more active styles of yoga, restorative postures are held for longer periods of time, allowing the body to gradually release unnecessary tension and settle into a state of ease.
There is no stretching, striving, or need for flexibility.
The focus is comfort, support, and rest.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Following the restorative practice, you will be guided through Yoga Nidra — a traditional practice of conscious rest.
Often described as "yogic sleep," Yoga Nidra invites the body into profound relaxation while awareness remains gently present.
Rooted in ancient yogic traditions, Yoga Nidra supports a quiet inward turning of attention, offering an opportunity to rest deeply and reconnect with yourself beyond the busyness of daily life.
Why Combine the Two?
Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra complement one another beautifully.
The restorative postures help settle the body and calm the nervous system, creating the conditions for a deeper and more effortless Yoga Nidra experience.
Together, they offer:
Deep physical relaxation
Nervous system support
Reduced stress and overwhelm
Improved sleep and restfulness
Space for reflection and self-awareness
An opportunity to pause and replenish
Each experience will be different, and all responses are welcome.

01 / settling into support
Each class begins with a series of fully supported restorative postures designed to encourage relaxation and ease.
Using bolsters, blankets, cushions, and other props, the body is comfortably supported in a small number of gentle positions, allowing physical tension to gradually soften and the nervous system to begin settling.
You are encouraged to adjust your props and positioning as needed throughout the practice, ensuring that your body feels safe, supported, and at ease.
As the body settles, the mind is invited to follow, creating the conditions for a deeper experience of rest and the Yoga Nidra practice that follows.
-
02 / guided inner awareness
From this place of comfort, you will be gently guided through a traditional Yoga Nidra framework, which will include:
:: Gentle breath awareness to support nervous system settling
:: Systematic rotation of awareness through the body
:: Accessing felt sense and guided imagery
:: The optional introduction and reinforcement of sankalpa
You are always free to listen lightly, or simply rest. There are no expectations.
-
03 / rest and gentle return
Periods of quiet rest are woven throughout the session, allowing the experience to unfold naturally and without effort.
The practice concludes with a gradual, peaceful return to waking awareness, giving you time to reorient gently before moving on with your day.
